- A general in the Liu Bei army and sworn brother to Liu Bei and Zhang Fei.
  His prowess on the battlefield leads to him later being worshiped as a god of war.
  He is fiercely loyal, never once betraying his lord no matter how many times he is captured or scouted by others.
  
  Kunio
  
  The protagonist of the River City series, he’s a good-hearted, hot-blooded delinquent in a white school uniform.
  He cares deeply for his friends and is too kind-hearted to turn aside anyone in need.
  He excels both in battle and in sports! Alas, he’s weak to pretty girls and even weaker in academics…
- The first emperor of the Shu. He is a hero who works towards restoring the glory of the Han Dynasty.
  His belief in moral obligation wins him the support of many citizens, generals, and tacticians.
  He shares a strong bond with his sworn brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, sometimes perhaps a bit too strong as it can cause him to lose his cool.
  
  Gouda
  
  An upstanding young man who found himself learning to fight in order to defend his little sister.
  Far from a delinquent, he’s kind and always looking to help others.
  This kindness earns him fans of all genders.
- Sworn brother to Liu Bei and Guan Yu.
  He stands toe-to-toe with Guan Yu on the battlefield, even said to have taken down 100,000 troops by himself.
  Although he struggles with a short temper, he eventually learns how to utilize tactics and matures into a highly efficient general.
  
  Godai
  
  Head delinquent of Tanibana High. An unpredictable and laid back guy who loves a good brawl.
  Although he and Liu Bei have opposite personalities, they get along great for some reason and can often be seen together.
  He’s unrivaled when he’s got a weapon in hand, especially his favored wooden sword.
- An older general past the age of 60.
  Despite this, his strength is on par with the young generals, such that he can fight evenly with Guan Yu himself.
  He excels in archery, making a name for himself within the Liu Bei forces.
  However, he is quick to anger when mocked for his age, and tends to lunge headfirst for the enemy troops.
  
  Toraichi
  
  A master of many forms of martial arts and the elder of the Double Tiger brothers who fight for the title of ultimate warrior.
  Currently, he runs a sports gym called the Tiger’s Den where he trains up fearsome martial artists. A true warrior with deep integrity.
- A genius tactician who supports the Liu Bei troops.
  Also known as the “Sleeping Dragon,” his exceptional military knowledge leads their army to countless victories.
  His talents extend to political affairs as well, with his work improving the life of many citizens.
  He even shows extraordinary talent as an inventor.
  
  Misako
  
  Manager of Nekketsu High’s soccer club.
  She has a very special relationship with Kunio.
  A headstrong and active girl who is always cheering for Kunio, even fighting alongside him at times.
  She may act flippant, but she’s actually highly loyal.
- A longtime general in Liu Bei’s army.
  He’s an honest man who can calmly evaluate the situation, reliable in times of need for his allies.
  His military capabilities continue to shine even into old age.
  He is well renowned for his commendable bravery.
  
  Sugata
  
  A fervent ally of justice and second-in-charge at Nekketsu High.
  He greatly respects Kunio and sees him as a spiritual mentor.
  His pure-hearted nature often sees him charging ahead without much thought.
  However, he’s also stepped aside, unable to confess to a girl, instead praying for her happiness.
- A general renowned for his beauty and called “Ma Chao the Splendid.” His abilities are just as impressive, as he manages to drive off Cao Cao’s forces repeatedly.
  A certain incident causes him to wander between troops until his talent catches Liu Bei’s eye and he accepts the offer to join his army.
  
  Murasaki
  
  A student of Horyo High known as the “beautiful swordsman.” He’s not a member of the baseball club, but his skill with the blade translates well enough to his swing on the field.
  He’s got a rivalry going on with Tsuge, and is in love with Gouda’s little sister.
- A young genius with intellect rivaling Zhuge Liang and fighting skills comparable to Zhao Yun.
  He originally fought for the Wei before switching sides to the Shu when Zhuge Liang scouts him.
  Greatly loyal to the Shu emperor, he would sometimes pull off even unlikely tactics for him.
  
  Reika
  
  The young mistress of a wealthy family, she attends Reiho Academy.
  She’s a member of the tennis club and plays the game like a pro.
  She has a big crush on Gouda, to the extent that she’s even ordered her allies to lose when he is on the opposing team.
- While he originally serves under a different general, he is taken by Liu Bei and his excellent moral character and betrays his current troop to enter his service.
  Although his skills are undeniable, his headlong personality puts him at odds with Zhuge Liang and they often squabble.
  
  Kumada
  
  He belongs to the Judo club at Torashima Industries Fourth High School, and wields a vast arsenal of throwing moves.
  A big fan of Gouda, he often helps him out.
  In the period drama he takes on the role of a bad guy, showing off some impressive acting chops.
- The youngest of the five Ma family brothers from Jingzhou. Highly intelligent, he excels in military tactics.
  Zhuge Liang has high hopes for his future and treasures him like a brother.
  However, his overconfidence in his abilities leads him to sometimes ignore orders from Zhuge Liang.
  
  Mika
  
  A modern-day gal who loves following trends.
  She follows Taira’s plan to set-up Kunio, but ends up growing quite fond of Kunio instead.
  She’s been trying to get close to him ever since.
- A genius, said to be the most talented of the five Ma family brothers from Jingzhou.
  Known for his white eyebrows, he is perhaps uncreatively called “White Eyebrows.” While he can put forth precise plans himself, his familiarity with the inner workings of Jingzhou means he often finds himself sent running around to relay communications.
  
  Minori
  
  The undisputed queen of Three Castle.
  She loves to listen to people talk, and soon had more fans among the clients than any other.
  Her demure appearance belies a hidden mental and physical strength.
- Ma Chao’s cousin and subordinate.
  After joining the Liu Bei army with Ma Chao, his efforts in countless battles earn him the trust of Zhuge Liang.
  He often ends up conducting ambushes as part of tactical plans as one of the rare few soldiers who can pull off such feats.
  
  Tsuge
  
  A student at Hattori Academy, his skills earn him the role of captain for the baseball tournament.
  Evidently he hails from a ninja school, as he can wield ninjutsu techniques.
  Perhaps as a result of his ninja training, his speech is peculiarly dated.
  He has something of a rivalry with Murasaki.
- An older general, he originally serves under Liu Zhang before entering the Liu Bei troops due to Zhang Fei’s inspiration.
  His noble and loyal character earns him the affection of those around him.
  He fights many battles with fellow older general Huang Zhong at his side, the two of them surprising the young soldiers.
  
  Toraji
  
  The younger of the Double Tiger brothers.
  While plenty powerful, he’s still immature mentally and struggles to accept defeat, earning him regular scoldings from his brother.
  Everyone’s watching to see if they can best the Double Dragon brothers.
- Guan Yu’s son (in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms tale, his adopted son).
  Taking on his father’s skill in fighting and sense of loyalty, he accomplishes great military feats and even sometimes takes his father’s place traveling with Liu Bei.
  He stays with his father through his later years, and is revered by the people along with his father after his death.
  
  Sonokawa
  
  Leader of the Senridai Bombers, a group he forms to protect his school from delinquents. Self-proclaimed disciple to Kunio.
  Truth be told, he’s rather subpar in a fight, but he’s got the guts to make up for it!
  He has a secret talent at puzzles.
- One of the great heroes of the Three Kingdoms, he founds the Wei nation.
  A great talent with great military prowess, intelligence, and charisma.
  While many generals swear fealty to him, the people of the nation fear him for his sometimes extreme tactics.
  
  Yamada
  
  Kunio’s rival who fights wielding an evil power.
  He’s a sarcastic and cowardly panderer, but his abilities in battle are very impressive.
  He once led Reiho Academy.
  He’s since transferred to Meian High and seems to be scheming something up yet again.
- Minister of the Wei and famous tactician who rivals even Zhuge Liang.
  A fearsome enemy who manages to triumph against Zhuge Liang’s attacks many a time, he is greatly trusted by the Wei emperor.
  Strangely enough, he can rotate his neck 180 degrees.
  
  Tobioka
  
  Heir to a huge technology company in North America, Tobioka Concern.
  A genius who attends university already at the age of 17.
  He’s researching Kunio’s brawling abilities in order to create the ultimate robot.
  He’s got a rather unique way of speaking.
- He originally serves Ma Chao before turning to the Wei when Cao Cao identifies his true potential.
  Due to how he joins them, his comrades don’t trust him at first.
  Seeing him bow his head so low his forehead bleeds, however, makes them later trust him for his serious and direct character.
  
  Otonashi
  
  First year student at Reiho Academy.
  He once avoided others due to a unique power of his, but Kobayashi reaches out to him and they start hanging out together.
  He’s still got a lot to learn, but his hidden talent makes his future bright.
- One of the best generals even among the Cao Cao troops.
  Known for his overwhelming strength, he is especially feared by the Sun Quan troops.
  Guan Yu once saves his life, and despite being on opposing sides they respect one another.
  
  Hasebe
  
  Vice-principal of the student council at Reiho Academy, she’s loved by all.
  She’s actually incredibly powerful and feared by some as a legendary delinquent.
  She’s childhood friends with Kunio, and at the very least has her eye on him… but there’s been zero progress.
- The eldest son of Sima Yi, recognized by the large bump under his left eye.
  While he possesses talent inherited from his father, he is an arrogant man who abuses the influence of the Sima family, taking on a domineering attitude along with his younger brother.
  
  RK300-1
  
  A member of the Tobioka Atomic Bombers, the group of ultra high tech cyborgs created by Tobioka.
  He’s had a major update as of late, with a new exterior and interior!
  He himself is quite fond of his super cool left eye.
- Second son of Sima Yi. Like his brother, he has an impressive intellect inherited from his father.
  He can also be quite cruel, intentionally waiting after learning of his allies’ betrayal and then crushing them all in one fell swoop.
  
  RK300-2
  
  A member of the Tobioka Atomic Bombers.
  Same as his comrade, he’s received a major update, with upgrades to his intellect, linguistic capabilities, and brawling power.
  His appearance didn’t get a similar upgrade, though. He’s not amused.
- One of the great heroes of the Three Kingdoms, first emperor of the Wu.
  He’s younger than Liu Bei and Cao Cao, and sometimes swayed by his emotions to charge right into the enemy forces despite his position.
  Subordinates from his father Sun Jian’s generation still support him, and his character draws people to him.
  
  Riki
  
  Friendly rivals with Kunio, sometimes friends, sometimes enemies.
  He’s passionate and fiercely loyal to his comrades, but this passion leads to many a violent incident.
  He’s even had to stay back a year.
  He’s just as strong in a fight as Kunio, and just as bad with academics.
- A young general of the Wu, praised for his beautiful face.
  His allies would look down on him for his youth.
  When word spreads of how he staved off Liu Bei with his clever tactics, they acknowledge him and he takes up a vital position on the defensive front.
  
  Nishino
  
  A first-year at Hanazono High, bright and full of smiles.
  She’s an upperclassman from the same middle school as Mami.
  Lately she’s been working part-time, and is paid well for her hard work, meaning she’s better off than you’d think.
- He originally relies solely on strength with nary a thought in his head, but he later studies intensely and matures into a well-rounded, tactical general.
  His sudden self-improvement shocks even Lu Su, and he fights well against Guan Yu himself.
  
  Wataru
  
  The ambitious No. 2 at Hanazono High.
  He would do anything, no matter how cowardly, if he could take the top spot at Hanazono, but he’s never managed to beat Riki.
  In spite of all that, he is pretty good in a brawl…
- A general of the Wu with genius-level intellect.
  He is called “Zhou Yu the Beautiful” due to his good looks and artistic sensibilities.
  He works together with Zhuge Liang to take down a tough opponent, all the while cautious of Zhuge Liang’s talent.
  
  Kyoko
  
  A student at Hanazono High, she loves Riki.
  She loves him so much, actually, that she puts herself in danger without a second thought.
  Despite her cute looks, she’s strong in a fight, taking down foes with her powerful kicks.
  She’s buddies with Misako, and they’re always together.
- A kind and generous person, willing to provide out of his own pocket to help those in need.
  Sharp-witted and capable of calmly making the right decision, he would sometimes take unexpected approaches such as forming an alliance with Liu Bei.
  
  Mami
  
  A student at Hanazono High, she’s pure-hearted and adotable.
  She’s the type who can be kind to anyone, and she quickly grows close to the delinquent Riki.
  Due to both her looks and her gentle personality, she’s quite popular with the boys at Hanazono High.
- King of Nanzhong, the region to the South of the Shu. He once leads the people of Nanzhong in a rebellion.
  He repeatedly loses to Zhuge Liang, challenging him again and again, showing extreme persistence.
  Truth be told, his role as King of Nanzhong is made up for the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
  
  Sakata
  
  Former top delinquent at Hanazono High.
  A coward who’s better at talking his way out of things than fighting, he prefers to get by with lies and bluffs.
  On the other hand, he shows some surprising persistence and guts by repeatedly attempting to exact revenge after losing to Riki.
- A fictional character who only appears in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and not actual history.
  She is Meng Huo’s wife who takes a stand against Zhuge Liang’s forces in place of her husband after his repeated losses.
  She’s a skilled wielder of throwing knives who takes down many enemy generals.
  
  Benijishi
  
  A delinquent who leads the Ibaraki branch of the Kanto Lion Alliance.
  A beautiful woman with head-turning looks rivaling those of a celebrity, rumor has it she even has a fanclub.
  She used to be a volleyball club member, specializing in spikes.
- King of Wuge Nation.
  An incredible tall man between 276 to 289 cm, with even more shocking traits such as eating live snakes and beasts and covering himself in impenetrable scales.
  He faces off against the Shu army as aid to Meng Huo after his repeated losses to Zhuge Liang.
  
  Majishi
  
  Head of the Tochigi branch of the Kanto Lion Alliance.
  A large man who never takes off his hockey mask, he rarely speaks and can be a tad eerie.
  His manly character, however, earns him the love of his subordinates, and they all wear the same mask as him. The call him “Boss Majishi.”
- Lord of Tulong Cave. A highly cautious man, he takes Meng Huo under his protection and lays in wait for Zhuge Liang’s forces deep within a dangerous territory or poison springs.
  He uses poison in the following battle as well, causing great suffering among the Shu soldiers.
  
  Ginjishi
  
  Head of the Kanagawa branch of the Kanto Lion Alliance.
  He used to be in a bike gang, but after an accident he leaves the team to seek further strength alone.
  He tries to take a reasonable approach to everything, and thinks well on the fly. He’s good in a brawl, too.
- Lord of Bana Cave. He appears to come to the aid of Meng Huo as he struggles against Zhuge Liang.
  He rides a white elephant, utilizing eerie techniques to control animals.
  He’s formidable enough to have driven off even Zhao Yun and Wei Yan once.
  
  Shishio
  
  Head of the Saitama branch of the Kanto Lion Alliance.
  He effectively leads the entire alliance with his impressive skill, overwhelming charisma, and cunning willingness to engage in cowardly tactics at times.
  His physique is so tough that he can survive gunfire.
